Critical Incident Stress Management - Individual
(Assisting Individuals in Crisis: AIC)

Our instructors are highly trained and diligently prepared to provide excellence for you through our training programs.

Instructed by Warrior’s Rest Foundation ICISF-Approved Instructors
(In partnership with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF))

When a crisis happens, the way we support individuals in the immediate aftermath can change the trajectory of their healing. The Critical Incident Stress Management – Individual course teaches you how to provide compassionate, structured peer support to people experiencing crisis, trauma, or critical incident stress—one-on-one.

This class is often referred to interchangeably with Assisting Individuals in Crisis (AIC). While AIC is the official course title used by ICISF, the terms are commonly used to describe the same foundational training. The focus remains the same: equipping you to help individuals cope, stabilize, and move forward after trauma or highly stressful events.

In This Class, You’ll Learn:

  • Core concepts of crisis intervention
  • Psychological reactions to trauma and stress
  • Active listening and communication skills
  • SAFER-Recovery model for individual support
  • When and how to refer someone for further care

Whether you're a peer supporter, chaplain, team leader, mental health professional, or someone who wants to be prepared to help others in times of crisis—this training gives you the tools to respond with confidence and care.
